Oficiálna lokalizovaná Slovenská verzia QIP 2012 je dostupná na oficiálnej stránke qip prípadne je k stiahnutiu aj na tejto stránke nižšie. Tak isto je tu na stiahnutie samorozbaľovací archív *.exe (s podporou 32-bitového aj 64-bitového systému) alebo len samotný archív *.zip na manuálne vloženie slovenčiny.

QIP 2012 je nástupcom QIPu Infium a QIPu 2010. QIP 2012 podporuje protokoly OSCAR (ICQ), XMPP (Jabber), Gtalk (Jabber), Vkontakte, LiveJournal (Jabber), Mail.Ru Agent a XIMSS (SIP), Twitter, Facebook.
QIP 2010 podporuje všetky operačné systémy Microsoft Windows NT od Windows 2000 a vyššie.
* Jabber protokol je portovaný na QIP 2012 z Miranda IM na základe zvláštnej dohody s jeho vývojármi.
